Tobasgo Creative were chosen as part of their long term relationship with both the ECB and ICC to develop the volunteers’ identity ‘Cricketeers’, implemented across the recruitment programme, clothing and training materials. ECB will be using ‘Cricketeers’, at international matches this summer, starting with the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, currently running at Cardiff, Edgbaston and The Oval.

Tobasgo have worked with both the ECB and ICC on diverse branding projects for 15 years, with this project encompassing the Cricketeers branding which included a pocket event and venue guide, personalised for each individual volunteer.

Cricketeers are the information point for the event and Tobasgo were tasked with creating a logo to represent this.

Praised for “showing the spirit of volunteering in London is continuing to blaze” by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, the Cricketeers began their work on 6th June 2013 after a four month project by Tobasgo Creative. The recruitment programme resulted in 900 volunteers who have signed up for the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

Cricketeers are supporting the tournament in a number of areas, enhancing the customer experience from meeting and greeting, media, hospitality, ticketing, accreditation and ‘on field’ activities.

Gail Martin Director of Tobasgo Creative was enthusiastic

“We were involved in this project from day one and were thrilled to see the Cricketeers in action over the last week, following their tweets on #cricketeers and seeing their diverse photos taken in the ICC ‘photobooths’ at each venue, it’s clear that they are all embracing and representing both the spirit of volunteering and cricket.”

Look out for the Cricketeers this month, greeting guests at:
Weds 19th June, Semi Final, The Oval
Thurs 20th June, Semi Final, Cardiff
Sun 23rd June, Final, Edgbaston
